83. Olympics and China: The Future...

San Francisco- Tibet has its own Flag
Some news agency in China has asked the Italian authorities to divulge the following statement which says that the question of Tibet is only an internal matter which regards only China and has nothing to do with Human Rights.

Is taking the land off their rightful owner, nothing to do with Human Rights? And it’s no use hiding behind the facade that this land was usurped from the Tibetans 50 years ago, either. Tibet is still Tibet and not China. No matter how many years that land and its people have been suppressed, stripped of their language and culture... This is not a matter of opinion but of geography- a fact of life which the rest of the world agrees upon.

The Chinese now are also adding insult to injury by arresting and extorting the “confessions” from those nine monks the Chinese claim of having planted bombs against a government building- Which government pray? A foreign one? Then of course the Monks did well, if that’s what they in effect did... But can anyone believe in the honesty of China anymore? Didn’t she promise to observe Human Rights in order to host the Olympics? extorting confessions from Monks who only try to get back what was stolen from them, is ABUSING Human Rights – the prevention of people from returning to their own land by a foreign power is ABUSING Human Rights- or is that a mere internal matter too?

How can any Olympics committee in the future ever give the Games to China again, with the whole world against them? Because the world will not forget nor sweep it under the carpet as the Chinese would want us to do.

Gordon Brown, by being the first to endorse that belief, by not being present at the opening ceremony, if China continues to ABUSE Human Rights, has rendered a service to mankind – which shall not be forgotten!
