68. China Has Broken Its Word
So the Athletes can break theirs.

The Chinese Government has broken its promise to the world on respecting Human Rights by slaughtering and detaining those who have asked for freedom. Nevertheless, it is to be remembered, we all reap th
e rewards of our own actions sooner or later, China included.
However, because of the affection I hold for the millions of Chinese people who think as I do but cannot do so, I will say no more in order as not, perhaps, provoke further oppression to be inflicted upon them.
I can only direct my words to the athletes, that as the Chinese Government has unashamedly broken its promise made to the Olympics committee to observe human rights, they, the Athletes are no longer held to the promise extracted from them not to make any manifestation at the Olympics.
Certainly these Athletes must not boycott the Olympics and isolate China from the World as China is in the World, must remain in the World and TALK to the World... And neither would I suggest that they should manifest anything which does not spring from the purity of heart and in defence of those who cannot defend themselves.
These Athletes should participate fully at the Olympics in China with the awareness of the responsibility they have been endowed with- making these Olympics memorable in history as a great triumph against those who have inflicted only their vicious barbarity on their own fellow citizens.
