66. Riyadh and Women Drivers

| In Riyadh, it is advisable for women to fly balloons instead |
In my last entry, it was China who got the merit for having such a fantastic relationship with its female population- but I was wrong- Riyadh is even better. Italian national TV, in all its wisdom, brought to our notice that women are not allowed to drive cars in Saudi Arabia’s cities!
“What are they supposed to drive then, balloons?”
I said to my cats who were waiting to be fed. I huffed a bit as that didn’t go down at all well with me.
“I guess Some men are afraid of women in case they get the upper hand and the males lose their virility, so they treat women in a servile manner. I knew my cats understood as they showed more respect for one another than some so-called human beings do.
The cats started meowing since I was still holding their bowl in mid-air as my eyes were glued to the TV. Who the hell do those male specimens of ... I am reluctant to call them human beings... think gave them their life- a woman I no doubt. The same woman whose womb they rolled out of, they now incriminate of contaminating their streets by driving! Then when I heard that all this women driving business was against their religion, I seriously turned to my cats and said,
“What are they supposed to drive then, balloons?”
