361. Italian Elections: The Future is Now

The beauty of these last
elections in Italy cannot but fill the hearts of the youth with joy, not only of
Italy but of the whole world, knowing that they, the youth, can hold the future
in their own hands, at last.
One third of the Italian parliament will be
filled with young faces, those that have a whole lifetime ahead of them, and
they, with Grillo’s Five Star Movement
have won their share of the cake of power fair and square.
It won’t be easy to find a solution in
how to govern Italy with the other two thirds that still hold on to power, but
one thing is certain, both Bersani and Berlusconi should know their time is up
and they should hand over the batten to those who have the future to contend
with.
There are young people in both the right and
left wings who speak the same language as those who voted for the Five Star
Movement, I am thinking of Matteo Renzi
who, should Bersani step down in his favour, can only do a world of good to
Italian politics.
It is useless holding new elections
for the time being because the scenario will more or less remain the same. New
elections is only a ploy to squeeze more money out of a country that is deep in
debt because Italian politics are generously financed by the state.
One thing the youth of this parliament must
seek to do is cut out such costs and take the money from the rich, something
which has been completely ignored in the last year by the Technical Government.
The lack of employment and growth is also due to the fact that the cost of
employed is far more than that of any other country in Europe- this is also
another priority reform, again completely ignored by the last government.
Instead, what has Bersani on
top of his list of reforms? The law in
getting rid of Berlusconi’s communication networks that gives employment to thousands
and thousands of people. Yes, as Grillo said, Bersani is a “Dead Man Talking”…
I thoroughly welcome this change and I
strongly urge for the good of the future of this country that the media and all
parties support and guide these young people in parliament…even if those of you who are parents know young people don't often allow you to guide them, but this must be done anyway, because theirs is
the future.
