| Making ashes. |
Instead of
a Lenten sermon, this year we got a catechism lesson with the local children
present.
Our Parish
Priest placed a brazier in the middle of the aisle and asked the children how
ash was made, which of course they told him.

| So off he goes to make ashes...Burning what is harmful to us. |
 |
| First he takes violence ... |
 |
| and puts it in the brazier |
 |
| Next comes greed... |
.
 |
| And then telling fibs... |
 |
| Whims... |
 |
| And disobedience... |
Our
Parish Priest informs us if we take those things out from within ourselves and
burn them, we would do a bit of cleaning up.
 |
| After which he blesses the ashes... |
 |
and puts them on our heads
in the sign of a cross saying: |
 |
| From dust thou art |
 |
| And unto dust thou shalt return. |
