411. The Writing Process Blog Hop

Like in the Olympic Games, I was chosen by Heidi Norrod,  my writer friend and accomplice in misdemeanours  on Twitter, to carry the Writing Process Blog Hop Torch, then pass it on to you and hopefully, you won’t let it drop, but will pass it on to other writers after you.

Apart from that, all you have to do is answer four questions regarding your writing process and WIP as I have tried to do here.

1)      What are you working on?

I am working on two projects which I intend to seriously bring to fruition... giving the impression that with the other projects I am just dicking around... well, sort of.

The first deals with a fiction of reality based in the 70s which was originally written during that period so it’s the genuine thing. But as you can imagine if you had written a piece of work 40 years ago, would you not think your writing skills may have improved since then? Precisely, that’s why I am re-writing it, besides what PC will support a format written on an electric Remington portable? I thought I might mention I have three fiction of reality works complete and they all deal with a religious vocation, a tragic incident, seasoned with doses of love and sex intrigues.  And if you are wondering what a “fiction of reality” means,  it is about things that have really happened, written in a fictional manner.

The second is a project to keep you all from falling down in the dumps- I am creating, developing, brainstorming pictures with my own words in various themes for the Twitter #BePositiveHour slot, started by AKA Literary Agent Terrie Wolf. I am trying to, as she says, make the words and pictures dance about with each other. Hopefully, this will make you feel like dancing about too... or in this case- hopping about.

2)      How does your work differ from others in the genre?

As far as I know there isn’t a genre called “Fiction of Reality” so I’ve got a big problem there haven’t I? It is not work like the kitchen sink drama written by John Osborne as in “Look Back With Anger”, which is a work of fiction, because my work is based on non-fiction events. I don’t think it is possible, as yet, to categorize “Fiction of Reality” as a genre, however the founder of this genre, in absolute, is Shakespeare as in most of his tragedy and history plays, he took reality an made fiction out of it. And how does my work differ from that of Shakespeare? Well, do I really need to explain that, says she bowing her head humbly!?!

3)      Why do you write what you write?

I write about things that have happened in a fictional way because I am not a journalist, I don’t report events in a technical manner and I am not a novelist because I don’t invent either the events or the characters- I am a Fiction of Reality Writer.

4)      How does your writing process work?

There is nothing on this earth that says I have to write and unless there is an external or internal force that makes me write I can go on for days, months, years without writing a word, until one day I’ll say: “Bah... this is a useless life- let me do some writing.” And then it’s easy. I write the first sentence, paragraph, page and chapter and then when the flash is over I make a map of what I've been carrying around for ages. If the map doesn't work, I may turn the whole thing into a short story. The re-writes and changes are as many as they need to be. I work well with instructions from someone who knows what they are doing.

My Chosen Writers:

Gilda Evans       @gildaevans
Gilda is an Author, a Speaker and a Thought Leader. She is particularly active with women and features many stories of women in difficult situations. She is also popular for her “Girl Talk” icon on her website and Facebook.

As a young romantic lady from Devon (UK) Dallas, after being ditched by her childhood sweetheart a hop away from the altar, sets off on a never-ending adventure to Turkey. She has many tales to tell which you can find on her website... after what happened you can well imagine she always sees the funny side of life.

Finally a man! Yes because among so many women writers I’ve also included a man, who as he himself says is a “Professional Dreamer.” Actually, if you ask me, it is more his characters who tread the realms of dreams as in one of his novels, someone who lives forever and never dies. In effect Ramon has his feet firmly on the ground by getting his historical novel “Chasing Eternity” to be published by Front Porch Romance, for which all good luck is sent your way Ramon.

Now it’s OVER TO YOU... Give your blog a boost by passing the word around and others, including myself, a chance to know a little bit more about you as a WRITER.
