274. Bloggers do count- part two

Those who  can influence and shape the opinion of others, are not, as we have often believed, to be journalists bound to the policy of the paper that publish them, but free agents who have nothing to lose if they say things just as they see and believe them to be.  News and events told from a fresh angle always bring a breath of fresh air that seems irresistible to most of us who are in continuous search to know what in effect is really going on.

It is this attitude that bloggers have that have influenced a more open approach to journalism, because if anything has supported the status quo, it is certainly those who hold the power of the press.  And those who want to see their words in print have to toe the line.  So the vicious circle of a biased press is never broken.

Even the tabloids are biased.  One may say the only reason for existing in the eyes of a tabloid editor is to sell as many copies as possible in as scandalous a manner as possible, irrespective who the victim is.  But take a closer look to see who gets to go under the chopper and who doesn’t- it is from that, one gets to know where the paper’s bias is... and yes, tabloids do choose and select their victims very carefully, just in case you have any doubts on that score.

But the spectrum of bloggers reaches well beyond that of portraying the happenings of life in a fresh manner.  Bloggers write on infinite subjects, from the housewife who will devote her time in showing you how to earn a living from home to the globe trotter who will paint a picture for you of his wanderings through his blog diary.  There are blogs that write about life and all that is contained in it and which certainly you will not find in newspapers or even specialized journals.

So if you find a good blogger, you have found a treasure greater than a jewel for the fulfilment of your development, interest and entertainment.

And to the rest of us... keep on blogging, because bloggers count.
