Demonstrations – Beginning of the end
The war in Gaza
does not justify Italian demonstrators to start a war in Italy.
A few days ago, within
hours, the centre of Milan was reduced to wreckage. If that is the result for
Palestinian support, then the world has turned topsy turvy.
Matteo Salvini may not
be everyone’s cup of tea, but at times he comes up with propositions worth
noting. The latest is that he proposes to introduce a preventive deposit
for those who organize events which will be forfeited in case of damages. But
as the vice-premier Tajani said, that would be difficult to implement. I agree…
but then I thought, is a preventive deposit really so impossible to
establish?
I can’t for the life of
me see how the uprooting of lamp-posts and crashing of windows help even one
single person in Gaza. If people really want to do something significant, they
should get down on their knees and pray as hard as they can, instead of
wrecking homes and people’s livelihood.
