365. Don’t Smell of Church When…
On facebook I posted some photos
I took on Monday at our local Pizzeria, together with celebrating his birthday
the young owner gave a party for the 4th anniversary from the opening,
free porchetta rolls and beer, animated by kaleidoscope effects and DJ music.
Nothing out of the ordinary you may say- the
local youngsters and even some not so young- just ravin’ up for a wild wild night,
so to speak, and even if Monday is not often a day chosen for a rave up this
Monday was not one of the usual Mondays of the year; this was a particular
Monday, this was Monday of Holy week.
Holy week for Catholics is a contemplative
week, a no no rave up week Mondays included, this has been so from all times-
yet the gathering of people to be together, share some joy, fraternity,
friendship together did not seem to me out of tune at all.
Blame it on Pope Francis, some more fossilized
Catholics may say… No, I wouldn’t say that even if his words do challenge us to
go out from our fossilization and go where others are, because at the end of
the day what’s the point of preaching to the converted… no… let’s go out and share
the joy of being a Christian with others only one should remember…
Don’t smell of church when you
walk with the heathens.
