319. Blogging in July? You’re Kidding!

Blogging in July?  You're kidding!

After years of blogging on researched facts in order to bring a balanced picture to my posts, the time has come for me to think out again why I blog and revise my mission statement to see what shape my blogging is going to take in the future.  This has come about because when I came to writing this week’s blog, I came to a full stop.  I had no idea what to write about.

Up to now I have written on politics, religion, the arts, writing and about society in general, making sure those were not simply opinionated articles, and I strongly insisted on this, that they were based on researched facts.

However, since in mid-July it is hot here in Italy which in itself sucks up quite a bit of energy, hence it is not surprising to find yourself coming to a full stop and reluctant to tackle with vigour another ‘hot’ subject.  Indeed, even in July there are ‘hot’ subjects to blog about.  There are men who kill their wives, people who commit suicide, strikes, angry people all over the place, deaths on the roads, at sea, on mountain tops and of course there’s Moody who have once again declassified Italy.  With all the tightening of purse strings going on in Italy, those who have still a bit of brain left under this hot July sun, are convinced that there’s something fishy behind such declassification- and of course there is.  But like I said, it is mid-July, it is hot and I have no inclination to go and dig up the under-the-belt manoeuvres of the agency’s ratings.

Thankfully, the stock exchange have snubbed the ratings  and instead of going down, shares have gone up.

But now, back to that mission statement...
