Judging by what I’ve seen, heard and been told, Republic Day didn’t go down so bad at all... in fact people thought it was quite a wow!
What I liked about the parade in Rome is that it was not showing off one’s military power as some countries seem to indulge in with unending rows of impressive war tanks and other imposing armaments; those that were included were there from a historical view.

At the end of the day, it was more a historical review of Italy, a sort of putting together of what made Italy a nation in the last 150 years... and the people seemed to have liked it, more than they would care to admit...
