220. End of Pilgrimage

Picture of us pilgrims outside the house where John Bosco was born- we are all about to move off as it was just going to rain

The Pilgrimage ends with John Bosco, the Saint who gathered in boys from the streets who would otherwise end up as thugs.  He gave them things to do which stirred their interest.

From this he founded homes with the help of his mother “Mamma Margherita” who looked after them.  This developed into the evolving of schools and technical colleges so the boys could learn a trade.

Eventually this gave rise to the Salesian Society of which John Bosco is the founder.
