158. Guardian U.K. Declares War Against Italy

On the day that Italy buries her dead after a gas explosion due to the fact that those who make Europen rules have not properly checked the wagon cars carrying gas into Italy, The Guardian declares war against Italy by seeking her expulsion from the G8! The Guardian claims

“there is growing pressure from other member states to have Italy expelled from the group, according to senior western officials.”

Are these officials the same ones responsible for not checking properly the faulty wagon cars carrying the gas into Italy? I can’t understand why in the whole of these accusations, the Guardian does not supply the actual name of one single accuser. And who are these member states making this pressure, pray?

Well, perhaps they are those who enjoy a more luxurious life-style than the down to earth Spartan facilities that will be available in L'Aquila... those who charge their respective tax payers with inordinate expenses, some of which are even non-existent. Is that the real reason Italy should be expelled from the G8 because guilty of not providing the shameless luxury one is accustomed to and having make do with immense beautiful scenery and all accommodation exactly the same as that of the next guy’s, except Gheddafi of course who has his tent set up nearby? Certainly it was not Germany who complained because their chancellor wants a guided visit by the Italian premier himself, of Onna, the city whose citizens were massacred by German Fascists in 1944.

I noticed the Guardian has another European country in the wings ready to step in, namely Spain. An obvious choice since the British government has to do something in order to placate the numerous U.K. citizens who were seduced in buying property in Spain erroneously mislead in thinking they could build a paradise there. Most of these properties are now redundant, unsalable and totally useless to anyone since you cannot make a living in Spain if you want to live there.
If someone states something which is inaccurate or exaggerated there’s always a second end involved somewhere as I have learnt since reading some British press articles on Italy. The Guardian claims Italy has not given her contribution in full to overseas aid. Of course, the money handed over for Ethiopian and Libyan compensation was not taken into account nor the integration of boatloads of illegal immigrants that Europe just shoves unto Italy is not helping people overseas is it? It is not justified or fair to expect Italy to contribute twice!

And now we come to something that really does rub the Guardian up the wrong way- the alleged lack of organization for the G8 preparations. For one thing, it should be remembered that Italy is one of the safest places in the world for World Leaders to meet and that in itself cannot be underestimated. The complaint that there is nothing on the agenda is not exactly so.

The agenda is almost the same as that of the G8 Summit in Petersburg with which the Guardian in all its wisdom got itself confused, with this one in L’Aquila. But each summit including the one hosted in London last April is often criticised for lack of coordination and “issues on the table which were not even touched upon.” Added to the agenda of the last G20 in London and G8 in Petersburg there is an added issue submitted by the Pope, that of being on the side of the weak. There is also another issue that cannot be avoided that of the sanctions or not to be placed on Iran. This is one topic which doesn’t just end with the sanctions but is the WORLD to trust Iran on their nuclear policy? Will the US have to give the all clear for Israel to defend themselves against Iran’s nuclear power? And what about the rest of the Arab states, are they happy that Iran continues producing nuclear weapons hence seriously compromising Palestine’s possibility of becoming an independent state? So, I am not sure that those moaners the Guardian is talking about have much justification for expelling Italy from the G8 for bad organization and “spread the agenda extremely thinly to obscure the fact that (the Italians) don’t have an agenda”. Which is utter nonsense because most people in this country know what the agenda is, I could even print it out... But why the hell should I when the British press can’t be bothered to do it? If the Guardian can mix up the L’Aquila Sherpa calls with those of the Petersburg’s Summit then I can well believe why no one in Britain is confident as to what the agenda consists of, the way some of the British press communicate their information is formidable indeed!
The fact that the Guardian does not refrain from mentioning Berlusconi and his “parties with young women” endorsed by the media coverage, and that he is the real cause for Italy’s “heavy criticism”, is probably another of those second end reason for stating things. Strange that the Guardian as The Daily Mail has done, has not mentioned anything of Berlusconi dinning with the judges who are to make a decision on his immunity, naturally such is not conceivable in Britain: but it is indeed common practise in Italy. Judges are frequently seen with the defendant, plaintiff, lawyers, witnesses or what have you having lunch, cappuccino or dinner- Deplorable practice, I agree, but there is no law against it and the only way you can stop it is by kidnapping the judge!
Photo: People clap at funerals- That's another thing the Guardian can pick on next time!

I realize it is hard for the British to accept, as the French do accept without batting an eyelid, that there is not all that amiss about Berlusconi’s life-style, after all he does come from the world of
show-business. But it has to be remembered that one has to take away the exaggeration of the tabloids set up by left-wing propaganda to get at the reality of things. Frankly I find it unrealistic that Berlusconi can really keep up with all that chivalrous activity the tabloids claim he gets up to. For one thing where would he find the time to indulge in all this, he is always in the public eye? And he does also work... in case someone has forgotten he does have cardiology problems and any intense or not sexual activity would probably send him to kingdom come- besides he is a great believer in sexual sublimation.

Clutching the photo of a lost one
I think the real problem with the Guardian and such media is that they are getting a wee bit jealous of the success the Italian government has gained of late, be it at home or abroad... Well, here’s something to console you- your time will come around again only too soon- when Britain will host the G8 or G20 or G whatever it will be and then the British Press can spill all the ink they want in glorifying the magnificent superiorly organized agenda in which Italy, as you claim failed miserably and deserves to be expelled! However, I should like to remind you gentlemen of the Guardian that the fruits of the implementation of such superior organization can indeed be seen in Britain through the impossibility of her citizens to walk freely into the streets, (not just after dusk, either) without getting mugged by hooligans, robbed by thugs and have your windows smashed and cars scratched by vandals... all of which have happened to me during my stay there- check it out with Manchester and Lancashire police records! My advice? Be wise and think- a pot should never call the kettle black- my sack of rattlesnakes is fuller than yours can ever be.
