135. Satan does not Want the Kingdom to Come...

During Lent, once a year a group of young people from the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto come to visit our parish with the precise aim to animate our awareness as to the role of the missionary in lands far and near.  

These young people go round the parishes or whoever calls them together with a missionary returned from where he had been stationed to bring news and to let us common folks who maybe do not put a foot beyond our front door step, know what is happening in those places.  

But they do not just come to the parishes and sit there like statues, they take over the Mass and “animate” it.  In holiday camps they call such people entertainment organizers or promoters since they come with their guitars, their songs, their violins, their voices.  

But there is a deeper, darker and cruel side in the life of a missionary as those who have been in the missionary fields of Africa have indeed witnessed.  

There is the side where Satan puts up barriers of ignorance, hate, death and destruction so that the Kingdom of Heaven may not, cannot be constructed...

Fellow men who slaughter fellow men so that the Kingdom of Heaven will not be constructed...

Where missionaries are murdered so that the Kingdom of Heaven is prevented from being constructed

Because being a missionary means also this today- to give one’s life to build the Kingdom of Heaven.
