47. Rectifying my blunders

From the half choked tears of Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, to the rubbish heaps in Naples with the epitaph “Not Recyclable” splashed beneath the faces of the ministers of the environment and winding up with Berlusconi, Italy’s once Prime Minister and leader of the Opposition comparing himself to Christ again by telling the Left wing Leader that he, Berlusconi, is his Messiah and will save him from the ‘deadly embrace’ of the extreme Left - I found myself singing – Oh what fun it is to live in the eight year of the third millennium!
Father Anthony (SDB Salesian of Don Bosco)
who has since left town!
What can I say- Hillary Clinton woke up to a nice surprise- she found her own voice! As for the rubbish in Naples, the government has not quite sent out the SS, but nearly, as it was time they stopped allowing the state to be bullied by the Camorra, the Mafia, or simply plain thugs… or whatever anyone wish to call them… And Berlusconi? What can be said of him? Perhaps he was traumatized as a child by his Salesian schooling!!!

Recalling what Berlusconi said, as noted in my entry 38, that he used the Salesian method to recuperate the ten ‘erring’ Senators, which he claims is a notch above the methods used by the Magistrates; I have since discovered that those methods were based on what John Bosco did, that is, he went round the streets to rescue youths from ending up as thugs and in order to draw them he invented all kinds of games, theatrics, juggling, even tight-rope walking, playing the violin, telling stories… And, as one reader has kindly let me know, since John Bosco desired Francis de Sales to be Patron of his Order, the members were therefore called Salesians- which leads me to rectify another of my blunders… In my excitement of having found someone who actually knew what the kingdom of Mewar meant I declared John Bosco the Patron Saint of writers and journalists… I wonder if Francis de Sales will ever forgive me, because indeed it is Francis de Sales born in the same year, 1567, that the great Mughal Emperor Akbar sacked the then capital of Mewar, Chittorgarh, that is the Patron of writers and journalist- John Bosco is only the Patron of Editors… which doesn’t displease me in the least!
