“In Lumen Gentium, the Second Vatican Council referred to a multiplicity of “the abilities, the resources, and customs of peoples,” saying “each part contributes its own gifts to other parts and to the whole Church.” PAOLO VI, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, Lumen gentium, November 21, 1964,

Fr. Anthony goes on to state:
“In this dissertation we study this new language of Media Convergence - Digital Ecosystems and its application to the Italian Church’s Institutional media networks, in order to give birth to new possibilities for the mission of the Church as in today’s multitasking world consumers have myriad choices for news and short attention spans.”

Media Convergence |
This is just a sample so as one can have an idea of what is implied by Media Convergence. A doctorate in this field would not have existed at all in my days when newspapers ruled the scene for the acquisition of unquestionable news items and remained so in spite of the advent of television which had an equal influence in the acquisition of news.

Anything written in newspapers was as if written on stone and it’s verity would not be questioned. Reporters were known to have to extract information from the font as a dentist would a tooth and news was not easily accessible as official events from all quarters were highly guarded. As new types of media came into being newspapers had to adopt to other ways of working which was not easily received. However, with the advent of Internet, social media and up to minute news readily available on-line meant that the conventional pattern of working in journalism was no longer feasible.
| Difficulties to overcome. |
Nevertheless, change is not often easy, in fact it is extremely hard and because it presents such difficulties new ways to embrace fresh ideas of working in journalism remain untouched and this for the Italian Church’s Institutional Media Networks is a death knell.
