119. How Can You Blame a Teacher for This?

children visiting our village
A Chinese six years old child falls from the fifth floor of an Italian school building and the teacher is blamed.

All our sympathies undeniably goes to that child and his parents, while the burning question rises- how could such a thing ever have happened?

How could a child stay behind from a lab lesson in English when all the other six years old of his class had left?

How was it possible for that child to have stood on a chair, open the window and throw himself out?

How was it possible that there was no child proof safety catch on the window?

How was it possible that there was no safety barrier placed on the window of the top floor of an elementary school?

How is it possible that the first class of elementary school is allowed to climb flights of stairs with only one teacher to take them up and to take them down?

Why wasn’t a janitor assisting this teacher in moving the class of children from one room and stair to another? There are more janitors in Italy than the whole Military and Civil Police Force, why wasn’t one of these assigned to the teacher in question? What were the army of janitors that the state employs doing? Making coffee for the head teachers?

How is it possible that six years old were allowed to climb flights of stairs anyway? This is not legal in other countries like Great Britain.

How is it possible that the only person the Italian System of Justice can think of blaming is the Teacher?

It seems to me a question of adding insult to injury.
